We do have business continuity procedures in place for all our offices which includes staff working from home. We have sophisticated technology and IT systems in place which allows for remote working without impacting on client service. We are confident that clients will continue to receive the service they expect from us as seamlessly as possible.

Findlays is a firm of Chartered Accountants operating since 1932 offering accountancy and taxation services throughout the UK. Our offices are currently based in Dundee and Arbroath and we have 4 very approachable Partners. We provide services which cover the whole spectrum of accountancy, taxation and business advice for a wide variety of clients ranging from individuals to large multinational organisations. Our business approach and relationships with our clients are modern and relaxed but we still maintain the old fashioned professionalism and diligence required to give clients the service they and their businesses want and deserve. We are small enough to allow us to give an excellent personal service to clients but large enough to have the necessary pool of specialist expertise to service all clients’ needs.

Joan joined the firm as a qualified CA and office manager in 1991 …
She became a partner in 1993, specialising in providing audit and accounting services, particularly to the social housing sector in Scotland. Today, her client base also includes working with charity, business and farming clients, in all aspects of compliance, business planning and taxation. Outside work, Joan relaxes by playing golf, walking and reading. She is a Trustee of Tayport Community Trust, and is current ladies vice-captain of Scotscraig Golf Club.
Lesley joined the firm in 1996 and was promoted to partner in 2002 …
She specialises in all areas of general practice from start ups to audit. She heads up the specialised charitable team which covers all services such as audit, independent examination, vat advice, gift aid claims, training and consultancy. Lesley also acts as the treasurer and trustee for some local charities. She also has the role of the firm’s audit compliance partner and has a wide ranging corporate client list covering many business areas.
In her free time Lesley loves spending time with her family.
Sandy joined the firm as a trainee straight from University in 1998, becoming a partner in 2009 …
Sandy provides audit, accountancy, consultancy and tax advice to a wide variety of clients in a number of sectors, but has particular interest in retail, housing, property and construction, medical and dental, engineering and financial sectors. Away from the office Sandy spends his time with his wife Leigh and two young kids, he loves sport, particularly golf and skiing and generally spending as much time as possible outdoors.
Kevin joined the firm in 2007 and became a partner in 2012 …
He specialises in providing business and taxation advice to small and medium sized owner managed businesses. His client base is wide and varied in terms of business sectors but he has a particular emphasis within the motor trade, hospitality, engineering, construction and fishing industries. His client base is geographically spread from Aberdeen to London. Away from the office Kevin spends the majority of his free time with his wife Sam and their three kids. He is also an avid supporter of Dundee United.
Colin Walker F.C.C.A. – CONSULTANT
Colin joined the firm in 1984 and served as a partner until 2015 …
He fulfilled the role of managing partner for a number of years prior to retirement. He currently acts on a consultancy basis supporting the firm and its partners as and when required. His wide experience over numerous business sectors is extremely valuable. Colin now spends the majority of his time with his wife Jane and on various golf courses.
Ian Crighton C.A. – CONSULTANT
Ian was a partner in Findlays for 10 years following a distinguished career working both in the City of London and running his own accountancy practice in Broughty Ferry …
Ian retired as a partner in 2015 and since then has fulfilled a valuable consultancy role for the firm. Ian was previously Finance Director for Dundee Football Club. Ian is a lifelong Dundee FC fan but away from football in his spare time he enjoys playing golf, hill walking and photography
Hugh recently retired as a partner within the firm but will continue to provide advice to the firm on a consultancy basis. Up until Hugh retired he was a general practitioner …
He is a general practitioner with a wide range of clients, but also has specialist experience in Forensic Accounting and Corporate Finance. Hugh’s main hobby is playing golf wherever and whenever he can, and he is a long time member of The St Andrews Golf Club. Having been a keen rugby player in his younger days, he still follows rugby closely – especially the Scottish national team. He is also an enthusiastic (mostly armchair) supporter of F.C. Barcelona.
Louise first joined the Practice in 1988 as a trainee accountant and qualified in 1992 …
Louise left the practice shortly thereafter to take up the position of Company Accountant with a manufacturing firm in Carnoustie. In 2007 Louise returned to Findlays to fulfil the position of Practice Manager and now over sees the day to day running of the firm and all this entails. On top of this Louise also provides accountancy and taxation services to many of our clients. In her spare time Louise loves to play golf and she is a past captain of Montrose Golf Club. She also likes to cycle and spend time with her family and travel with her husband Jim. Louise is a trustee of Old & St Andrews Church in Montrose.
His current role is as an associate within our Arbroath office …
His current role is a manager within our Arbroath Office. His responsibilities include overseeing the accounting and taxation staff within the office, developing and training our up and coming trainee accountants, as well as servicing a varied portfolio of clients. In his spare time Steven loves to play golf, spend time with his family and travel with his wife Kerry. His favourite travel memory was a tour he arranged of the White House in 2015.
Jennifer joined the firm as a trainee in 2004 and was promoted to manager in 2014 …
She specialises within the charity sector providing professional advice to a large number of clients who differ considerably in size, complexity and nature. In addition to her charity specialism, she is heavily involved within our audit team dealing with both charitable and commercial client audits. Outwith working life, Jennifer enjoys spending quality time with her family first and foremost. Her other interests include holidaying, socialising and music. She claims to be one of Take That’s all time biggest fans.
